Nia Po Pia

My baby big girl is almost 1! So little sassy Nia will be 1 on Wednesday....what ever should we do? I keep telling everyone we"ll be enjoying a nice dinner at Chik-fil-a which I am sure will definetly please Maya, but nevertheless this will be Nia's celebration.
Maya's first birthday was filled with a normal new mommy to do list of stuff Maya could care less about. We had the theme of a tea party...yes for a 1 year old! She had an exquisite tea pot cake and her own "messy cake", we had a project for all the big and little girls which consisted of making a fancy party hat, she had a big jump in the back and lots of games inside. Looking back on the whole thing it was really nice, lots of fun and a tad bit pricey. Now that its Nia's turn and we are going a bit low-key I only hope I don't hear about this 10 years from now when Maya and Nia check their snapfish photo albums of 1st birthdays and notice the lack of similarities. LOL.
We will however celebrate all day long at school....cupcakes and ice cream for my baby girl....all day!

The Resemblancee of 2 Sisters...

If there was any way possible that 2 sisters could be twins but born years apart...these 2 would make the cut...Nia Mariah Faith @ 8 months and Maya Grace Denise @ 10 months.

I love my girls!

My Baby

My baby...yes she is 4 and I still call her my baby....My baby and I attended her Pre-K Orientation today. What an experience this next week will bring for the both of us.

Of course she is now excited about going while I am a little fearful. I need like another 4 months to teach her a few more things and its hit me that I have officially ran out of time. I've had 4 years to instill in her the things I think would give her the best success in this crazy world...well at least en
ough to deal with those bad kids who she will surely come across. I have to say my daughter is a great kid. She is respectful, sweet, charming, beautiful and super smart. Now its time to let go...LAWD WHY!!!!

Maya,

Today we attended your pre-k orientation. Although I may seem thrilled to send you off mommy is 2 seconds away from taking back every uniform and school sup
ply and sheltering you home with your sister. I know in my heart of hearts that you will be fine. I know you will go to school and make mommy and daddy proud by listening to your teacher, making good choices, playing with others, being a friend and helpful when needed. I trust you will always act as if you're mommy and daddy are watching. I love how you love to make us proud and I hope you know we are!

Kisses HoneyBunch! ~ Mommy loves you...

Mommy...1 million and 2, Maya....4

"Mommy....you're right...it does feel better when you're room is clean."
*mommy crown gleams with light*

Maya is my oldest and she makes me soooo proud. We have those moments when I could just squeeze her because she's so sweet and with the help of my husband we made her...together.

So today Maya and I had a rough day together....Maya is preparing to enter public school at the local elementary and WE are SOOOO excited! However, until then she's here...with me...and the rest of the preschoolers...that are mostly younger than her....oh and her little sister...lovable, fiesty, smart, playful...Nia. Ok so back to Maya...she is a smarty, and totally girly...loves dresses, pretty shoes, dolls, and being her daddies princess. Today however we were having one of those days that I dread...she was bored, then sad, then couldn't color, then didn't want too. How do you deal? As a preschool teacher I specialize in kids who are kinda stubborn, needs to be entertained, etc. So why is it my own child who I would die for can get under my skin like this. You know I seriously have to go into prayer about this and ask for an answer. We have a very few days left (14 days to be exact). It just hit me...we only have 14 days until she is immersed into the world with the guidance of a prek teacher and the influence of 19 other 4 and 5 year olds.

I had this conversation with my husband the other day...the panic of preparing Maya for school and wondering about any last minute things to teach her...much like cramming for a test there are a million things I want her to know. I want to introduce her to different scenarios and teach her what to do and how to react but now I only have 14 days to do it.

You ever ask, why don't children come with manuals...seriously. I'm not talking about the "What To Expect When You're Expecting" series but a real mama to mama book! I'll add that to my list of "To Do's"...LOL.

Ahhh....this has been therapeutic for me...how about you? :)

P.S. Mommy loves you M&N

Feeling Defeated

Yep...another blog by me. Hopefully I can actually continue this one...only time will tell.
So the last time I did a blog while dieting it worked out well. Sooo...I thought...hey why not do it again.
